Notes from the Director of The Metro Show

METRO Curates: Depth and Focus

Caroline Kerrigan Lerch - Monday, June 17, 2013
The 2014 METRO Show will have a refined focus dubbed METRO Curates, in which each participating exhibitor must present a one person and/or themed show, articulating a specific point of view and highlighting their specialty.

This concept will challenge METRO Show galleries to coalesce various ideas into one coherent exhibit.  METRO visitors are invited to explore thoughtful and intellectually stimulating presentations, curated specifically for METRO and more in-depth than the material found at most other fairs.

“I am delighted by the challenge the refined focus of the Metro Show provides. It should result in exceptional displays that are intrinsically interesting and will provide excellent opportunities for collectors,” says METRO dealer Amy Finkel of M. Finkel & Daughter.

Carl Hammer of Carl Hammer Gallery agrees, adding “The curated booth programming of the METRO Show will provide to the public and exhibitor alike, not only clearer purpose and identity, but an opportunity to present to the New York art marketplace what we each do best in our galleries across America.”

We look forward to METRO exhibitors rising to this challenge and offering spectacular presentations this January!  Long-time collectors and newcomers should prepare to be invigorated and intrigued!
